I wanted to like this. The material sounds really interesting: how biology has utilized various physics principles in so many ways. But the fact is that reading it was a drag; I persisted till the end out of a sense of duty to the material, but did not enjoy it.
There are at least two problems.
The first is commmonplace: the author is not that gripping a writer. But that is not a dealbreaker
The larger problem is that this book was targetted, I think, at first year biology students. As such it show more is terrified of detailed physics explanations, let alone math. The result is a constant mention of interesting physics in connection with some biological phenomenon or other, but no followthrough, and this really disappointed me. show less
