Rebel-in-Chief holds few surprises. I like Fred Barnes and have often found him to be quite insightful, but I find little more than hero worship in this book. It's not that I disagree with Barnes' characterization of Bush as a revolutionary republican; it's that Barnes doesn't really seem to question whether that might be a good or bad thing. On the other hand, Barnes is clearly a bright and fine writer.
Yes I voted for him and if given the chance to vote for him I would do so again. I do have doubts and criticisms; however, its mostly because I think he is too liberal and not conservative enough. That said, this book is an interesting look at some of the features that distinguish Bush from previous Presidencies. A friendly look at the President.
Fred Barnes is a Fox television news analyst. He interviewed President George W. Bush and his top officials to report on the ways the Bush administration is using what he calls radical conservatism to effect change in the United States. This book is well written and covers foreign policy and faith-based initiatives. I will let you make up your own mind, but I will say that this book is an interesting read.
While I have a deep appreciation for George W Bush as President, this book is quite a bit over-the-top, and even has information that is somewhat suspicious to this reader.
