After completing a group Bible study of the book of Revelation, I have tried several books written by religious scholars that I thought might expand on the narrow interpretations given in the group study. I found no books that filled that niche until I found this volume of essays written by various scholars. This book had numerous perspectives, and all were interesting to me. Some took a strictly historical interpretation, one a feminist look at the Apocalypse, one a Liberation Theology show more perspective, one a look at current cultural phenomena that stem from Revelation, and a couple looked at differing ways to interpret the seeming violence in this last book of the Christian Bible. This volume is a great resource for anyone who is wanting to examine this complex book more closely, and to gain some new insights. show less
