I loved this book!!!
Cried a lot, but in a good way... sort of.
For me it wasn't as much of a love story as it was beautiful story about friendship.
I cried a lot for Joey and was glad that the story showed how big of a problem bullying is and how far it can sometimes go.
I cried for pour Charlie who was let down by the people that were supposed to protect her.
And I cried when Charlie and Jase got their happy ever after. I was so deeply touched while reading the epilogue.... the thought about show more the three friends finally being together again after death just made it for me. It was BEAUTYFUL show less

LAWD LAWD! SOMEBODY KNOWS HOW TO WRITE!!
Honestly, I can't think of anything that I didn't love about this book. It is full of action, mystery, humor and sexiness. It is so not the same tired story, repackaged with garnish added. The story is fresh. The writing style is mondo magnifico. I was supremely entertained the entire time. The characters are very well-developed, and the two main characters have riveting backgrounds. I don't want to say anymore about that because you are show more suppose to not know and learn their past while reading. I adore both of the main characters personalities.
Kade, oh Kade, how I love thee. He's wealthy, self-made, damaged, gorgeous, dark...Need I go on? No. But I will. Kade survived a tragedy at the age of 16. Now he is a horror novel writer, and a pretty twisted individual, a weirdo (a sexy weirdo).
Words had always come easily to me. Violence and hate were in my veins. I was rage personified, and horror and malice were my only friends. We had lived together peacefully since I came to terms with being me.
I wanted to scrape the words I've written off the white of the screen, grab them tightly in my hand and smash them against her face. Have her feel my words against her flesh, smear them into her pores, and have them seep into her skin.
Lastly, I followed her; stalking the shit out of her. Fuuuck, I'm twisted. The thoughts about my behavior were even creepy to me.
"Bloody-Motherfucker-Wank-Shanking-Bugger!"
And Sam, OMG! Someone alert the presses! It is actually possible to write a strong female lead that doesn't beg you to jump between the stanzas to slap her! She is one lovely badass! Seriously this chick is fab-u-lous!
Let me translate: small trailer, one bedroom with two single beds and I don't cherish watching live porn. Or having threesomes, for that matter. I would think that they took way too much coordination, way too much thought on where to put my elbows, and one more wet spot to worry about. Oh, and I am way too competitive, because if I didn't score the winning shot, I'd be pissed off.
"That is the most arrogant, condescending, male chauvinistic and patronizing mansplaining bullshit I have ever heard."
"You know what they say, having a small dick is the leading cause of acting like a big one."
It reminded me of how easily any emotion can fade and shift into something you never believed you could feel. In a blink of an eye, fear could turn to bravery, happiness could turn to disaster and hate could turn to love.
This book is going to be one of the top reads for 2014. I guarantee it. I love it, and I'm waiting on pins and needless for book 2 (there is a preview of book 2 at the end of book 1). No, this isn't a true CH, but it does leave a whole lot unanswered while also leaving you begging for more.

"I saw him behind my closed eyelids, pale blue angels eyes. My angel; my soul mate."
I think this one threw me for a loop because, for some reason, I didn't get that there were going to be some angels in it. But that didn't detract from the story - and for the most part, it wasn't a part of the story until near the end. I just hadn't expected it (totally my fault, I know, but still...it adjusted my reading experience).
But, I'm also a character driven reader. I love getting to know the people show more in the story, knowing them so well I think I understand them and understand their motives and why they react a certain way.
And I just didn't get that with Grace. I did with Shane and even Lea. But Grace had me boggled. She would give Tucker a chance (just, really? He broke the button on her pants!?) and she gave...other boys a chance (don't want to spoil the story for you!)
But Shane, the boy she is MOST drawn to, she is rude and mean. Even Tucker somehow got more respect than Shane, even when Shane was so much nicer. I just didn't quite understand her. I think if the book had been longer, I might have more information and possibly understood. And for being a running goddess, she only does it in the beginning (like all the time) and then totally abandons it? She just seemed inconsistent.
But all in all, the story held my attention and Shane and Grace were interesting enough to keep me reading and I did like the story. show less

This was well written but I feel the story could have easily been one book. I just hate it when I can tell the story has been stretched out so the author can right a sequel. When will all these authors get the message?? I doubt I'll read the sequel because this book will be the farthest thing from my mind when it comes out! Anyway, I skimmed just a bit through ALL the thoughts going through their heads. This book is mostly filled with "thoughts" but there is some action mixed in. The H/h show more don't really hook up until 3/4 through nor do they even like each other much. Thankfully, no cliff hanger....that really would have sucked! I think Sam's history will be interesting but I doubt I'll ever read it. show less
