What is the real use for a potty? Ruby tries to answer this question by using it for... EVERYTHING! But it isn't until she REALLY has to use it that the purpose of a potty sinks in.
Can't rate, because I don't know what to make of it. It was an impulse grab at the library, and I was expecting adventure... but the text is as short as a Board Book (for infants). And putting it in second-person pov is cruel, because most children don't have a place to go exploring, much less one as awesome as this. Even if one makes allowances for imagination, as in, the tower is really just a pile of rocks, perhaps, it's too difficult, I think, for most children to relate to. Otoh, I show more could be wrong, and maybe it's a wonderful book. show less
The book tells the story about a duck who is always quacking and jarring on the nerves of other animals. Immediately the duck is gone and everyone is missing her. After a couple of weeks the duck comes back with many babies and everyone is happy. I think the book is also about the different habits of people which we don't want to accept very often. But we should, because everyone has good and bad habits and we just realize that we are missing them if they are gone.
Ruby has a potty, but does not know what the potty is for. This is a cute book to share with young children, when they are learning how to use the potty. Throughout the book Ruby takes her potty every where, but still does not know the use of the potty. At the end Ruby finally understands what the potty is used for.
