This was definitely not a "cookie-cutter" type of book. And I loved every word of it. Not that I was sure what to expect, to be frank.
I loved the idea of little snippets out of each year of Jacob's life. It was an unusual concept and I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It was sweet, romantic and brutal all at the same time. The POV changes were well done, especially when Jacob's POV was told. You could slip into the mind of him whatever age he was at the time and feel it to be show more accurate.
Andrew and Nicholas are also very interesting characters. Sexy & smoldering comes to mind as well as ruthless, hard, loving and caring. It takes a talented author to pull characters like this off without them seeming fake or too good to be true.
There were sections in the story where I cringed, sections where my heart nearly stopped and also parts where I was laughing out loud. And at the end of it all, I still want more. Lucky for me there are more books to be series. I can't wait to read more about these three! show less

What if one day, shortly before you turned 20 you were suddenly thrust into an alternate universe, told you were heir to the throne, and that people wanted to kill you? That is exactly what happens to Vivien, and the resulting story shows us Vivien’s journey and her struggle to understand all of these new changes.
I love the way this author creates a character; providing depth and a sense of the struggles that are detailed with heart and well described emotions and events. Worlds are show more created with enough similarities to be familiar and yet different, and the fantastical pieces are defined with a majesty that brings forth a vivid picture to the reader.
While this is the first in this series – there is some unfinished business that leaves you guessing, and there are still the characters of the bodyguards, twin brothers Aeden and Bradan that have not been as fully explored as Vivien would: I can only assume that we will find they develop more fully as the story progresses. A superb lead in for a series and it leaves me wanting to read more for the conclusion of this series.
I was provided the eBook ARC by the author for the FMB Blog Tour. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility. show less

This is a delightful short story with humor, a small mystery (more like a secret to be uncovered, and a tiny lesson about curiosity and – not the cat – but your boss; whoever that boss may be. Vinnie certainly didn't imagine he'd ever have one like James Spencer, and I imagine Spencer wouldn’t ever have come up with a personal assistant like Vinnie.
But, let me begin at the beginning.
Vinnie has big dreams after growing up in a small town. He moves to LA in search of a career as an show more actor, but just cannot seem to get even a call back after the first audition. He finally gives up when he runs out of money, and applies as PA of a famous actor. This is not what he expected, nor is what happens next, but it made for great reading. I loved Vinnie's voice, and the way he tells the story made me laugh a few times. He's just so – impulsive and unrestrained! As for the door James told him to never open?
Yeah, we all know how that goes!
What he finds behind it is not at all what he expected, and I loved the ending! If you like twisted fairy tales, if you enjoy reading a new interpretation of an old story, and if you're looking for a book that will make you laugh as well as think, you will probably like this one.

Usually a sci-fiction story tends to have a “grandeur” feeling; maybe it’s the great expanse of the space, of those spaceships, big and cold. You almost get lost in those spaceships, and the simple men who work in there are in second line, all the high tech solutions are the main characters and the men succumb to them.
Moonlust takes a turn from the usual plot and uses a very old fashioned device to do that, the mating fever. At first Kar met Jay alone, Kar had a very old spaceship he show more needed someone to pilot and Jay was the right man; probably Jay was not right only for the spaceship, he was right also for its captain, but Kar feared to be hurt from Jay’s possible future deception (how an old fashioned feeling, the old as time fear to fail that pushes men to not even try). Consciously or unconsciously, it’s not clear, Kar hired also Will, a pretty hot young thing who is immediately all octopus over Jay. But Kar clever diversion backfires him: now he has not only to avoid Jay, now he has to avoid the both of them together, who are all over each other at every moment and in every place of the ship!
Kar is barely managing to do that when a mission sends them to an alien planet during the mating season: the pheromones in the air produce an unexpected side effect also on them. Or maybe Kar is saying to himself that to justify why he is suddenly in bed with both Jay than Will and he is enjoying every moment.
As I said, other than being setting in a spaceship sailing unknown routes, this novella is basically a funny romp. Unusually for me, I like all three men in the ménages: Kar is almost tender in his “I want/I don’t want to want” attitude towards Jay, and it’s almost funny how he put himself in a bigger danger when he hired Will to “distract” Jay; Jay has those mystery aura around himself, and basically that easy attitude that makes him like a rascal, a character that I always liked in romance; and finally Will, the happy-to-go boy, the one who is always smiling, the one who wants to make everyone happy… obviously if this means making himself happy along with.
