A New Resolution is set on the Australian island of Resolution. The main character Anika Deumer moved to the island to have a new beginning of sorts determined not to make the same mistakes as her mother. She is unweaving in her determination to provide a good life for her seven year old son. As a Marine Biologist she is helping research the declining population of dugong‘s, that are in danger of extinction. When she meets yachter Nate Hollingsworth from Texas show more she is determined to stay away, judging him to be a rich playboy type. They fight an unexpected attraction to one another as they confront environmental issues like illegal fishing, drugs, a custody crisis and murder.
I found the author Rose Dee handled the tough topic of Christian values in a outstanding dignified way as she addressed unwedded sexual relations and attraction before and after becoming a Christian. I give A New Resolution 5 stars. It was a great read, easy to follow, clean romance, and had a good Christian base. The characters were well developed. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a Christian romance with mystery . It is part of a series but it can be read alone.

Australia is to me a mystical place I would love to visit and This romantic mystery in no way disillusions this notion. With careful attention to detail the idyllic island of Resolution comes to life and I smell the salt air, feel the surf lapping at my toes, the sea breeze against my cheek and watch as Flynn expertly catches their supper. God's love, provision and guidance is clearly a part of the story as Bay looks for the father she was told had abandoned her. Falling back on the show more spiritual journey her mentor shared with her, she is not as adrift as she originally thought. This revelation comes only as we, together with Jane (known to us better as Bay) look back at where she has been. In looking back I can also see much clearer how God's presence has been with me and leading me.
