I really enjoy this series and this one is no different. Colby, Meghan and Colin are finally learning some of the secrets that were kept from them. I love the little time travel trip Meghan & Sebastian took. It explains how the fake prophecy was started. Also, I loved how Colby foiled Juliska & Fazendiin's plans. The ending will leave you hanging, wanting so much much more. However, I already own the rest of the series so I won't have long to wait ; )
Enjoyable, easy read

I really enjoy the story line and how the characters story line stay fresh throughout the series. The adult versions are truly "adult only" content which at first I didn't think mattered but it takes the series from YA to another level of maturity in a very respectful way and not raunchy or vulgar at all. I recommend this series to any adult who enjoys modern fantasy werewolf and vampire story lines. FYI I am 43 yrs old just to show my adult point of view
This is more outside of what I normally read, but I figured I'd try something new.

The author chose to expand on standard tropes Twins with telepathy and gypsies that aren't trustworthy. They also added a different twist with Giant wolf-bats and magic and such.

Kinda glad the author doesn't have a love triangle yet, but I don't expect it to form, as one of the main male characters is her brother. There's hints of a possible love interest but not a triangle.

I feel like a lot of this book show more suffered from trying to do too much. You have the kids approaching their 13th birthday and what that entails. You have the a second storyline linking them to the gypsies. You have world discovery (which technically links the two.) It felt compressed for time, like one would edit a movie to fit time allotted. Interesting book, but the next in the series isn't an immediate need. show less
I love the peek into the past. It was very interesting to see how Fazendiin manipulated people and events to create the three immortal children. I feel bad for both Isabella & Juliska as they both had to lose a child for the prophecy to come true. They both reacted in different ways though and that shows their true character. I can't wait to read book 9 and see what happens as the Meghan, Colin & Colby follow their fate.
