I like the general theme of Hudson's ideas - being kind to yourself while striving for the perfect body and a carefully managed life.

But it is repetitive and moves very slowly, though I appreciate that she is explaining in logical fashion her ideas.

It is overly didactic but that's probably the nature of these kind of personal treatises - but it makes it a little boring and slow moving.

Re: Pretty Happy

Dear Ms. Hudson and Ms. Fitzpatrick,

This fun and interactive guide you put together truly simplifies Ayureda, the practice of combining western medicines and eastern treatments. I want to assume that normally when someone picks up a book by an “actress” they want to get closer to that person by learning more about her. This was my first time and I think Kate’s voice does show more well by the readers – ensuring us that she understands her wants and desires are different from anyone else’s such that Pilates may be pleasurable for her whereas weight training may be suitable for someone else.

By completing the tests in the book, I found that my dosha is pitta like Kate. I have to agree with the idea that we as humans are not just one thing so it is easy to find pieces of ourselves in each dosha. This speaks to the idea that we have to learn more about our bodies before we can treat them in the best way possible.

Tips like creating a drawing board or putting your lunch in glass containers over plastic are just two of the incredibly insightful choices covered in this book.

Best,
ANS

This wasn't my favorite, it was too much about her Drawing Board and theories on how to help yourself than any science or facts. Not my learning style, I don't feel I took anything away from this book.
