I recently had an opportunity to delve into some incredibly fun Lego guidebooks-- and this one is easily my favorite.

I've always wished I could look at a pile of LEGOs and see all of the creative opportunities, but honestly I need some guideposts. This book is a colorful, imaginative introduction to some very buildable, very creative projects. Each is approachable, not overly complicated-- but they're still projects I wouldn't have dreamed up by myself. A great place to start.

I recommend show more this for LEGO fans of any age, especially those like me who love the sets, but need a little more hand-holding when it comes to free builds. Great for kids, but fun for adults (like me!) as well. show less

Have you ever wanted to make a miniature replica of a 17th-century Dutch house out of Legos? Or an eco village? Or a British phone box? This book, with its detailed photographic instructions and building tips, will be your guide. It also features interspersed comics of Lego figurines talking to each other. It is sure to be popular among Lego enthusiasts.

We cannot keep this book on the shelf in our library- or any Lego book for that matter, but this one, which specializes in spaceships, pirate, dragons and mythical creatures is especially popular with boys and girls. I've bought a few of them for my 5th grade son and he'll sit for hours pouring over the directions and creating a fantastic model from step by step directions in the book (now I have proof he can follow directions!) or, getting an idea from the book and then building off that show more idea. The illustrations provide heavy text support and a little background on how Lego came to be the conglomerate that it is today is included. show less

The style reminded me a bit of Minecraft Let's Play videos. Good photographic inspiration.
