This was an emotional, gripping ride that pulled me in from the start. I loved Kellan; unlike his ruthless brothers, he’s softer, compassionate, and deeply protective, which made him stand out as a hero. Mila broke my heart. Used as a pawn by her Bratva father, she’s strong yet vulnerable, and watching her struggle between loyalty and desire was heartbreaking. Their connection felt electric, even when betrayal and lies stood between them. The Romeo and Juliet vibe, layered with mafia show more politics, family drama, and constant danger, kept me hooked. The twists were intense, the passion scorching, and the stakes impossibly high. This installment is raw, suspenseful, and beautifully emotional. show less
This book captivated me with its gripping blend of mafia intrigue and intense romance. The story unfolds with Caterina, destined to be a mafia pawn, who nearly escapes into a life of piety before Callum, a powerful Irish mob leader, disrupts her sanctuary. What starts as a strategic abduction evolves into a complex relationship marked by deep attraction and mutual respect. Callum's unconventional approach to their arranged marriage, emphasizing consent and genuine affection, adds a show more refreshing depth to their dynamic. The story balances dark mafia elements with humor and sizzling chemistry, making each page thrilling. This book delivers a compelling love story and sets a promising stage for more exhilarating tales in the series. show less
I was captivated by the story of Olympic gold medalist swimmer Noah Fitzgerald and Gabriella 'Gaby' Resendiz, a rock legend’s daughter. Noah's reputation as a ladies' man meets a challenge at his cousin's wedding, where he reconnects with Gaby, sparking an intense and passionate dynamic. As a fan of Ashley's previous books in the series, I appreciated this second-generation tale from the Proposition/Runaway Train world. The blend of humor, steamy romance, and emotional depth impressed me. show more Noah's transformation from a charismatic sportsman to a committed lover was compelling, and Gaby's journey of self-acceptance added richness to the story. The entertaining dialogue and revisiting of beloved characters from earlier series added layers of nostalgia and continuity, making this a memorable read for me. show less
Just when I was thinking that everything was going great and nothing could go wrong, Addison did something that ruined the mood and the book for me. She jumped to conclusions out of the blue. It really came out of nowhere and up to that point I thought she was sensible, so she fell a little to my eyes. On some level, I understand why she had all of these thoughts, but they weren't triggered by anything solid. That bothered me more than Barrett doing it with an opera singer in chapter two, show more which is a big no for me. I was very happy when he was forced into celibacy when the engagement began. The political side of the book and the election are in the background in this story and romance is the main focus. The romantic development between Addison and Barrett was good. show less
