Overall, I like this story, the Author did a good job of describing the society and how things are run. There are two sides of the people living in a bio-dome. Those who live in the Pitt, which is underground and those who live above in the Dome. The people in the Pitt are basically slaves and do most the work to keep the Dome running. They have no rights and are treated poorly.
The story is from the POV of Sunny, who gets caught up in a plot and ends up wanted for treason. I won't spoil show more anything but the story picks up from that point forward.
There is one part about the book that might make others feel uneasy and I haven't really seen any reviews mention this aspect of the book. But one feature of the society of the people living in the Dome is that they take young girls from the Pitt (about 12-17 years old) and they get sent upstairs to be sex slaves to the men in the Dome. The girls can't say no and will be severely punished if they try to.
I was really uneasy when reading this in the beginning of the book and had to stop and read several reviews, because usually somebody will mention something like that. I saw nothing so I continued to read. Well, nothing was witnessed by Sunny, but it is said what happens to the girls who go up to the dome, not implied like other stories. They say things like the girls have bruises on their bodies, they've lost that look in their eyes, and it is out right said by the girls that they are forced to have sex with the men.
Sunny never saw anything, she just hears these things. However, I thought I would mention it, since some people don't like to read or hear mentioned rape or any sexual abuse. It's not described overly much, it's just one of the hideous things that go on in the Pitt. I've read popular Dystopian novels and while it might be vague or hinted at or people assume that these things go on, this is the first novel I've read that out right states this is what goes on to the lower class.
There is the typical violence, fighting, and etc, that is in typical dystopian novels.
Despite this, it did not stop me from continue reading on and I'm about to start the second novel in the next day or two. I would like to see what happens to Sunny and company and whether she can help the people in the Pitt.
I was given this book on a giveaway. show less

4.5/5 rating
This book was better than the first one, I really enjoyed it. This book starts off right where book 1 ended with Jack and Sunny trying to survive while trying to figure out how to save everybody in the Pitt.
I loved this one more because it had more action, better character development, and we learned more secrets about inside and outside the dome. We also learn a little bit about the outside world and I can't wait to find out more in the third book.
This book ended on a great show more cliffhanger and I can't wait to start reading the next book. show less

I enjoyed SUNSET RISING so much that I immediately emailed the author to see if she was looking for reviewers for book 2 and when that arrived in my inbox I jumped right into it.
Jack and Sunny have escaped the Dome, but what finds them on the outside has them right back in the thick of the politics they just escaped. They have to play roles to stay alive and with their new relationship it does put a bit of strain on the couple. Thankfully they always find their way back to each other. I show more think both Jack and Sunny did a great job of adapting to their new environment and continuing to work towards their goal of liberating the pit.
A lot ends up happening in WORLDS COLLIDE. There are a ton of new characters introduced and plenty of action throughout. It's really crazy to find out how close the pit was to freedom all along and never knew it. I really enjoyed the twists that the book throws out and was never bored with any situation that popped up.
I can't say enough good things about this series. WORLDS COLLIDE had a few slow parts but it trapped me in the story just about as much as SUNSET RISING. My only real complaint is that book two ends on as big a cliffhanger as book 1. Kinda frustrating to not have book 3 right now, but I will be reading it when it comes out.

We were dropped into a cliffhanger at the end of book 2, WORLD'S COLLIDE, and I couldn't wait to see how Sunny would handle getting Jack back while also dealing with the news she received in the last few pages. It's a bit hard to write this review because I don't want to give anything away, but there is still things I would love to talk about.
Sunny and Jack were never supposed to be together, show more but their love is strong and it's clear they were meant for each other. No matter what Sunny thought, there is still a lot of tension and prejudiced between the former pit and dome residents. She slowly came to realize the issues throughout NEW WORLD ORDER and once she saves Jack things kinda blow up on that front. I don't think the blow up was as big as it could have been, and watching her and Jack work together to resolve the conflict instead of one or the other doing it on their own brought it all together in the end and showed how much each of them have grown since book 1.
The characters were great, the storyline was easy to follow, flowed nicely and kept me wanting more. There was a nice mix of action, romance and suspense. This trilogy started great and ended great, but I still want more! I thought the trilogy ended really well, but I still feel there is so much to explore and I am sad that this is the end. If you're looking for a new dystopian series to fall into, this is it!
