2024 movie #229. 2024. Santa (code name Red One) has been kidnapped and it's up to his chief of security (Johnson) and an unwitting hacker (Evans) to save Christmas. Sure it's a bit of a mess but it was great fun and will be a family Xmas favorite for years to come.
High school students try to figure out where they fit in.
Despite being cancelled mid-season, they give it a satisfying ending, as if it had always been intended to be just 18 episodes. A second season probably would have felt forced or repetitive. Still, I'm going to miss this show.

Christmas: Santa is kidnapped by Gryla, the Winter Witch on Christmas Eve. Santa's head of security Cal must find Santa so that he can deliver all the presents on time. Jack O'Malley is at fault for the break in at the North Pole, and Cal uses him to start backtracking who was behind the kidnapping. On the way to finding Santa, Cal and Jack meet Krampus and some very naughty snow men. In the end they save Christmas.
A fun movie. Wish the there was more of the snowmen.

Henry Riley's literal translation, books I-VII. This was like reading cliffnotes of Aesop's fables. I guess I thought it would be more detailed and literary. Some good moral lessons in there, occasionally. nearly half the book was translator's notes and explanations of the stories and their meanings by people other than Ovid.
