After his father dies, a boy is led astray by his uncle who takes him from his small village home to Warsaw, where he is enrolled in a secular school. His mother finds him, and, with the help of a rabbi, brings him home, both literally and spiritually. The target audience is Orthodox; the uncle and his wife seem to be Reform. It is not clear when this takes place, but the uncle goes to shul on the Sabbath in a carriage.
