Dahn

This was a fun read though there were a few moments where I was confused but it got cleared up as I read. Things do tend to pass a bit quickly but as its consistent it doesn’t seem to hurt the pacing. You get enough to know what’s going on but it does jump around from scene to scene and slows down a bit (in a good way ) around chapter 13. I wish we got a little more information as Gion travels but I did like the different characters that showed up as he went. That said i wish we got a show more little more time to connect with some of them so that some scenes were a bit more impactful. I do think this would make a great manga or drama if it was ever converted with the way its set up. I will likely check out the next book to see where the story goes.

Overall If it piques your interest I recommend giving it a read. Its an interesting setting and a fun myriad of lore that you get to discover as you read. The Demon king with the chimes also made for good antagonists. show less

Politics is what drives this novel, i feel this would have been much better as a manga style as the jumps in time made it rather confusing at times.

Fast paced graphic novel. More action than romance which is great. The main male character is quite likable and I admire his strength and independence. I look forward to reading the next volume.
