Ok, have you checked that cover? It is the best choice for a story involving ghosts! I love it and I loved Gull Harbor. First impression, after the first few chapters: “Yes, I like it.” Next impression, after a bit more of the action: “What just happened??? I must finish this!!!” So I started liking it even better!

“Gull Harbor” is full of action and twists, with great characters that have a good background story. I loved how the author combined an angry spirit with lost love and show more how the couple’s story mixed with the mystery of the house. Max’s love for Claire never faded. He had to give her up years ago but his heart always remained with her. Now that life brought them together, he is not willing to give her up, even if that means getting mixed up with her spiritual strangeness. As for Claire, her dedication to her job, the desire to bring peace to a very disturbed soul and most importantly her courage, are just some of the things that make her an inspiring character.

Now, in regards to the overall story, Kathryn Knight added the exact amount of mystery, the perfect dose of thrill and emotions. Having the romance side also well created, I can say this is a complete book for me. It has a little of everything I like. To top that, we have a beautiful narration that only accentuates the emotions and increases the suspense of some scenes.

So yes, a great book that has given me good hours of relaxing (though I did have a hard time listening to it at night… I’m silly sometimes, I know!). I loved it and I loved the characters. Seeing Claire in action can even be motivating and seeing Max doing his best to mend their relationship made my heart skip a beat! 5 stars – great!

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Kathryn Knight. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Four friends reunite at a lake house after they all dream about a fifth friend who has mysteriously disappeared, with the intent to figure out what happened to her.

A ghost story with a sweet romance, there were parts of this book I liked a lot. Conversely, there were parts I didn't like-a lot. I found myself turning pages eagerly through the first half of this book, and through the second half (and isn't it usually the other way around?) I started asking myself why these people were so show more forgiving. I'm all for good people and a forgiving nature, but as humans, there has to be an initial reaction to betrayal to my way of thinking. The main character was far too selfless, showing that she hadn't learned anything from a bad marriage and she was still "a doormat". Then, there was the TSTL parts, where the ghost is leaving puddles of water all over the lake house, and yet they didn't guess from that that she might have drowned or been dumped in the lake? It took too long to figure out, especially with two scuba divers in residence, diving at a neighboring lake.

So in the end, did I like the book? I'll give you a lukewarm "kinda." It did keep me turning the pages, even through the improbable parts. I won't go into a technical opinion, because I liked the story well enough to overlook the technical aspects that bothered me. So three stars. It was good enough.

This is the first book by this author that I have read. Of course it was the promise of a ghost story that prompted me to read it. It’s part mystery and part romance with visits from Brandy, the ghost of Rain’s friend that went missing many years ago. I wondered if the ghost of Brandy hadn’t been tied to Rain all the time but it took the friends getting together again at Silver Lake to make her appear and become active. Whatever it was it made for a very good ghost story. I could even show more overlook the romance. I will be searching for more of Kathryn Knight’s books. show less

Emily Shea is a single mom bringing up her sin Tyler. Brett Leeds has come back from a tour of duty and enters Emily's life not knowing he is Tylers dad. Tyler however has a new friend, a ghost called Josiah.

This book appealed to me for several reason. Firstly I would have picked up this book for it's cover. I was drawn to the ghostly theme and how a little boy is haunted and thought it could kick start my Halloween reading.

This book started of great and I was enjoying it. It reminded me of show more some Heather Graham books that I've read in the past. Nice easy reading not too taxing. I liked the mix of a romance and a ghostly element to the story.

It didn't take too long for me to start getting frustrated. There's a little boy who has a ghost friend, who obviously needs help. Emily however does come over as concerned and does involve a meduim but all she seems interested in is when is she next going to have sex. I know its a romance but there is just too much sex. I would have preferred the book to have been more on the paranormal side.

I haven't read anything by this author before so dont know her style or genre. If her other works are like this then I can easily leave them alone. It wasn't a bad read I think I was expecting something a bit more than what it was.

Than you to the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book via Netgalley.
