Review: I wasn't sure whether this picture book was fantasy or historical fiction. It talks about a family of triceratops and they experience events that may have been typical for dinosuars, it is hard to know for sure. There was nothing unbelievable like the dinosaurs talking. I would be wary about calling the book historical fiction because it is hard to know if the information presented was accurate.

Baby Raccoon is a story about a raccoon family and their night time routines. Raccoons are nocturnal which means they sleep during the day and play and eat at night. Mother Raccoon climbs out of their den, which is inside of a hollow tree, and keeps an eye out for danger. The baby Raccoons love to play with one another and search for food along the shoreline. The Raccoons eat crawfish and try to capture eggs from a nest. As the night comes to a close, the Raccoons settle back in their den show more and wait for nightfall, when their day begins again. This story gives the reader a glimpse into the life of raccoons. It provides the reader with factual information and the daily life of a raccoon. After reading this book, each student could find their own fact about raccoons not written in the book and share it with the class. show less
