An in-depth look at how the jury system functions in America based on numerous studies of actual cases, mock juries, and other means. The authors conclude and make their case that, for the most part, the jury system plays a very important role in American jurisprudence. The jury system generally does not freely hand out money in medical malpractice claims contrary to some assertions nor does it shirk its duty to carefully analyze the evidence.

Though the authors do conclude that juries in show more capital cases do not perform as well as they should, the lack of performance stems more from other systemic failures than the fact that the jury is incapable of arriving at an appropriate verdict.

All in all, a pertinent and interesting book. show less
