An often interesting, anecdotal history of the British in France that, unusually, focuses more on regions like the Pyrenees, the Riviera, and the Atlantic Coast than on Paris. Coverage is uneven, and is more extensive for the nineteenth century than for the twentieth. Less dense typography and an illustration or two might have made this book more appealing to the general reader.
