A mobster sees a therapist.

I'm starting to get impatient with this show. The therapy scenes, which in previous seasons have been the whole reason for the show's existence, are barely in it anymore. Meanwhile, the aimless excuse for a story is moving increasingly slowly - or at least it feels that way.

A mobster sees a therapist.

It's all very good, but I expected more. It picks up in the last couple episodes, so I have high hopes that later seasons will be better. There's a lot to appreciate about it, especially if you consider what TV dramas were like back in 1999. I just wasn't pulled in.

There's a lot of greatness in it, especially in the scenes between Gandolfini and Bracco. But the last episode was disappointing; the story didn't end up going anywhere unexpected, and a number of plot points from earlier in the season went ignored.

Story-wise, it's a rambling mess. There are a couple really great episodes, but the season as a whole just doesn't seem to know what it's doing.
