This was a good, easy-to-read, YA novel. I enjoyed it quite a bit. My complaints are only quite minor - it needs a going over by a human proofreader (some correctly spelled but wrong words are scattered around: 'hear' for 'here', 'abandon' for 'abandoned', 'were' for 'we're', etc). The heroine possibly had things a bit too easy, although her background made it more plausible. The worldbuilding was excellent, and new concepts and words were introduced in a fashion that made it easy to assume show more their meanings. Definitely recommend it. show less
The Darlington sisters are nearing the end of their quest to find their sister. They need to get to the Crow’s secret headquarters, but they have to be careful because there is a spy among them.
This was another delightful book in The Dragon Bone Series. I love the characters. They have quirks that make them endearing and unforgettable. The sisters are a loving and courageous group with individual personalities. Well except maybe the twins, but they are a unique duo in themselves. After show more three books, it still cracks me up that they are so into being pirates.
The action never stops and keeps you on the edge off your seat. This book can definitely keep the attention of anyone who reads it. It is a great book for any age group, especially middle grade.
If you haven’t tried this series, I definitely recommend that you give it a shot. Make sure to read them in order for the best effect.

Great characters and a distinctive world. A really good book. The main characters are interesting and well written. I particularly like the very strong female lead . One of the characters starts the book not only with no memory but with no ability to retain new memories for more than a few hours. That leads to interesting and unusual situations, problems and solutions.
Magic within the world deserves a special mention. It's well thought out and practical, especially in the cases where what show more seems to be magic turns out to be clever application of natural resources (I'm keeping this vague to avoid spoilers).
This is a great read and definitely recommended. I'm looking forward to reading more books set in this world. show less

I received this book free from the author. I found it to be a cute story. I enjoyed the multi-cultural religious pantheon elements. I had a bit of trouble telling Paige and Bean apart, but all in all it kept me interested.
