Actor Tony Jacobs has been the love’em and leave’em type. When it looks as if a girlfriend is getting serious he ends the relationship. Tony then works with Sara Maven on his new movie. They are both attracted to each other but Sara is wary of Tony. They begin a relationship and tragedy occurs when everything seems to be going right in Allyson Simonian’s FADE TO LOVE. Will they be able to work out their problems? Will other people get in the way?
I had reservations about FADE TO LOVE. show more When it started it was moving Tony and Sara’s relationship along very quickly. When Sara is counting the number of dates before they have sex I thought, “Oh, no. Not one of these stories were the woman feels coerced into giving into his sexual demands,” then it is all sex after that. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, Sara did count the number of dates (2) before they have their first sexual encounter. Yes, it was all about him. Yes, Sara felt demeaned and empty by it. What I liked is that she let Tony know what he wanted was not what she wanted. She also broke off the relationship outside of the movie. I loved the fact Sara was not a woman who needed a man in her life to complete her. Tony had to rethink his behavior and begin over again with Sara if he wanted to be more than work mates.
I liked the characters in FADE TO LOVE. After the shaky start, the story and the characters settled down and gave us a good tale that was easy to get sucked into. Tony and Sara have a bumpy road. The story is told quickly since it is short. Some parts of the timeline of the story are glossed over. But FADE TO LOVE packs an emotional punch. I was in tears. I felt anger over Tony’s treatment of Sara and Sara’s treatment of Tony. I could feel and understand Sara’s pain, hurt, anger, and fear. She is a strong woman but a lot happens to her that makes this believable and realistic.
FADE TO LOVE is an emotional journey with Sara. It gives us the highs and lows of a few years of her life. Fortunately she triumphs before she is swallowed by bitterness and pain. This is not a story that will fade quickly from my memory. I will read Allyson Simonian again. show less

This was explosive, deceptive, intriguing, alluring, engrossing, captivating, hell I think I may need to get a dictionary. I was only supposed to read for an hour or so to get my barring with the new author(s). But I found that four hours later I was still reading. The next thing I knew I was finished and it was almost 3am.
I got some intense danger, hello danger was in the title. I am very happy to have gotten in on the beginning of this series. I can see this one going far. The plot was show more developed and full of things that make you think. There was much going on with Autumn and the life she had led to the point she rescues Cam. The romance was a slow burn with deeper possibilities. I would say the romance was there but more so of the suspenseful aspects came in and drew you.
There was more in this story than you would think from the beginning. I was not the romance that kept me going. It was getting to the conclusion and picking up all the extras along the way. show less

I received this book free from LibraryThing. This is my honest review.
This book was very well edited, which I greatly appreciate.
I enjoyed the story. It was 135 pdf pages, and covered about 2 years. I think I would have liked it to be fleshed out more - that's not a criticism - it's me being greedy to read more about Sean and Jenna.
Overall, a great read, and I will be reading more from this author.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I felt the characters in this book. The story was very well written and smooth to read. You felt the joy and the pain as the story progressed. I wished that I could go into the story and punch London in the face! I wanted to hug Sara as she cried and I wanted to clap your hands for Tony for allowing himself to grow up enough to fight for what he really wanted in his life.
I would definitely recommend this book to friends.
