This is a useful pattern book based on environmental prints for children. It can be used to help readers who are beginners to recognize and mimic the words and patterns of the book while making connections between words and pictures. The book shows how numbers appear in our daily lives such as in bedrooms (clock, calendar), and towns (speed signs, street signs), etc. I like this book because children will most likely become excited from all the environmental prints they can recognize and as show more educators we can point out the names of these objects in the simple sentences. This can be a good book for choral reading. show less
"Numbers are Everywhere" is a picture book that is a great selection for beginning readers. It shows multiple pictures to show how numbers are used in our everyday lives; for example, sentences such as "Numbers are in my town" are used, combined with a picture of a speed limit sign. It follows a pattern, lending itself to being used for choral reading, as every page starts with "Numbers are" and then has a picture to go along with the sentence on top. The pictures are similar to things that show more children would see in their environment such as signs, birthday cakes, and alarm clocks, and they explain the importance of numbers.
It helps them to notice the different numbers that they see everyday. This book could be used as a guided reading book because it has short sentences that could be at a kindergartners/ first graders level, but it could also be challenging to them. Some students may also be able to read the number in the pictures which would be helpful when using this book for guided reading with a younger student or a student who can not read. show less

"Numbers are everywhere!" is a short picture book as it is only eight pages long and each page includes only three to five words. I think that this book is great for young readers, struggling readers and english language learners. What i really like about this book is that readers can use context clues in order to figure out words. As the pictures provide a source for readers to go to.to enforce that you can ask your student "what is going on this picture?"
