701. Kidnap: The Story of the Lindbergh Case, by George Waller (read 9 July 1962) I remember the night that Bruno Hauptmann was executed. I was seven years old and the news came over the radio. I think my family was saddened that he was executed. I think this is the first book I read on the case, and I was utterly caught up by the account. I have since read other books on the case and I have a great skepticism that Hauptmann should have been executed.
