I don't think the title of the book is very indicative of its content. The focus here feels less on the Franco years and more on their aftermath. I also would have greatly appreciated a more general overview of the period, rather than interviews that sometimes only very tangentially hit on what life was like in Spain under Franco. There are 2 or 3 really good chapters towards the beginning and after that it's not very interesting.
