Stuart Raymond was formerly librarian of the Yorkshire Archacological Society. He is an experienced family and local historian, and an expert on the history of wills and local records. Among his most recent publications are The Wills of Our Ancestors, Tracing Your Ancestors in County Records, show more Tracing Your Nonconformist Ancestors, Tracing Your Church of England Ancestors and Tracing Your Roman Catholic Ancestors. The Wills of Our Ancestors: A Guide for Family & Local Historians (Family History from Pen & Sword) by Stuart A. Raymond
An excellent background to the laws relating to wills, administrations, and what can be gleaned from them. Also some useful background on where to find wills (including peculiars, etc). However, where it falls down is regarding online resources, which, as with so many printed books, is now well out of date.
A reference book. Limited interest to the average reader.
