I'm a dedicated taphologist ( a student of cemeteries, in other words), and I love any books that detail the burial places of famous or infamous people. This is a superb example, not only does it give details on the (usually tragic) deaths and last resting places of 20th century musicians from all genres, includng some very obscure musos, but also info on their memorabilia that can still be seen and details of their most prized and rarest recordings. This is the sort of book only a dedicated show more and knowledgeable music-lover could produce, its clearly a labor of love and a superb read for fans and dedicated taphologists alike. show less
Interesting and full of little known facts about the lives of the musicians as well as their deaths and burials. Now I want to read a biography of Jelly Roll Morton, visit a couple of graves in Queens and ponder on what really happened to the ashes of Sid Vicious.
This book is a series of short bios on musicians who have died, giving updates on their deaths and burials. I'm not sure why some artists were in the main section and others in the following shorter section but it might be personal preference of the artist. It was informative but not quite as interesting as I was hoping it would be.
