The Lebensborn Alliance, Book II is a work of fiction set during the opening of the Civil Rights movement in the late 1950s and was penned by author Joyce Yvette Davis. Set eleven years after the events of book one, we discover the continuation of what happened in the lives of previous characters, and especially those who took the mysterious serum which promised immortality. In this post World War II setting, Kapp has a new job as the bodyguard of show more Dr. Martin Luther King, whilst Hans is running a newspaper company. Circumstance reunites them, telling the tale of racial struggles alongside an exciting and conspiratorial plot that may once again threaten the safety of the world.
It was easy to pick up the storyline in author Joyce Yvette Davis’s emotive and truly human work of conspiracy, thrills and authentic historical settings. Readers of the first installment will find that all the backstory they need is provided as the narrative progresses, with a few surprises along the way, and this second novel really expands on the relationship and reunion of Hans and Kapp in light of the racial issues occurring at the time. I particularly liked the dialogue, which delivers intense exposition in a really accessible form, but also characterizes the central figures distinctly and informs us of their emotional state. Overall, The Lebensborn Alliance, Book II forms part of a fantastic series of twists and intrigues, and it is a highly recommended read for fans of speculative fiction set amidst realistic historical events. show less
