One of the poorest written books I have read with spelling errors and numerous repetitive paragraphs. On page 6 the author discusses the 1941 film, All-American Co-Ed starring Frances Langford and John (sic) Hall. First, Hall spelled his first name as Jon (which the author did spell correctly on pages 43-44) but Hall was not in this film - the star was Johnny Downs. On page 47 the author states that the 1952 film Japanese War Bride and its star Shirley Yamaguchi was "the first female Asian show more performer to have a starring role in an American film that was actually shot in the United States." Evidently the author is not familiar with 1922's The Toll of the Sea featuring Anna May Wong. On page 76 the author provides a brief two-sentence paragraph that says Windsor's first marriage was not successful but her second one was. This was repeated again on page 92. On page 122 actor Andrew Duggan's last name is spelled as Duggin. On page 125, in describing the cast of the tv series Lawman, the author states that character Ben Jesse is played by Jane Stine then a few sentences later it is stated that Ben was played by Jan Stine. On page 147 when listing the actors in the 1976 film Freaky Friday the author states the mother was played by Barbara but provides no last name. Did the author or editor not even read the proofs of this book? There are a few photographs of Windows of which only one is labeled. None of her as a child or of her parents or husband or her child. There is no filmography. There is nothing on Windor's funeral service or where she is interred. Nothing on what her son is doing now or what happened to her husband or step son. The author also seemed to rely mostly on reviews provided on imdb.com rather than reviews written at the time the film was released or the tv show aired. And while some films gain viewers over time, it would have been good to show what was thought upon release vs what is thought now. The author is obviously a fan as everything she did was great but we all know that even Laurence Olivier got bad reviews. A big disappointment. show less
