I love this cookbook. I hate spending the time to cook, especially when it's just me. The author feels my pain! The majority of the recipes in this book are extremely easy and low hassle, which make me more likely to make them. Also, the portions are perfect and she calls it if a recipe is especially good the next day. The author spends a lot of attention on the basics as well, which is handy for someone living on their own. It's also nice to have good tasting recipes that aren't relying on show more heavy fats. show less

Decent cook books written for just a single chef or a chef and companion are hard to find. I was hugely relieved by this book, which has a contemporary character but isn't full of too much froo-froo-ery. You can find streamlined but imaginative recipes with portions for one or two, helpful advice on running a one-woman or one-man kitchen, and all with an eye to health and minimized waste.
Relatively easy and quick nutritious recipes. Try the apple crisp recipe-easy and delicious every time.
