Georg R. Sheets (1947–2020)

Georg R. Sheets, a graduate of Youngstown State University, has served in a wide variety of positions from public relations director for York College to executive director of the Historical Society of Dauphin County housed in the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion, a National Historic Landmark. He show more served as a consultant to the Pennsylvania Capitol Preservation Committee and is author of numerous books, including Pennsylvania Heritage: Diversity in Art, Dance, Food, Music and Customs He contributed the principal historic essay to the book, The Grand Review: The Civil War Continues to Shape America, nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and is editor of many books by other writers.
