South Australia is a strange and curious place indeed, but you wouldn't know it from reading this book. This is a selection of 25 pieces of history deemed by the author to be "curious".

There are some interesting moments in this book, where internationally historic events are shown to have a South Australian flavour, such as noting that General Douglas Macarthur apparently made his famous statement "I shall return" at Terowie Railway Station (I'd be wanting to return to wherever I'd come show more from if I ever found myself in Terowie as well). Most, however, aren't that exciting.

There are a series of these books but I would show caution before checking out the sequels. show less
