Thanks for help folks.
So, in no particular order :
I can indeed export subsets of my library directly in Excel by using filters
Exporting in Excel does not wreck the special characters.
Through trial and error I have pinpointed the faulty book : ... Even exporting just this single book caused the problem.
The book in question had an equal sign (=) in my review and once I removed it on a hunch, it could be exported in Excel, show more along with the rest.
The site hangs when trying to exporting in Excel a book with a review including an equal sign. show less

NOTES FOR ALL BIBLICAL ARCHAEOLOGY BOOKS
Anything published earlier than the last 5 years from the current date is obsolete.
Concentrate on books that give concrete details of discoveries, and avoid speculation about "what that means for Biblical accuracy" - or history in general - as most of it is only speculation.
In general:
1. Watch for the agenda of the writer in what he selects to show from all of the archaeological findings.
2. Interpretations are not facts.
3. Nobody has adequate maps, show more timelines, glossaries, etc. show less
