H.R. (née Paul Hudson), frontman for the best ever American punk band, is a man of many complexities. His struggle with mental illness over the last decade makes this a document of some import in the present moment. Interviews with family, friends, contemporaries from the DC scene and the man himself relate the life and times of H.R. and Bad Brains, from a peripatetic childhood to teenage rebellion in post-riot DC to the emergence of a wholly original musical force.
