A slim book on Mackintosh, well illustrated with monochrome photos and drawings. Focussed mostly on the School of Art and also on his earlier background, but there's not much here on him as an artist.
This is perhaps my favourite book on Mackintosh. I have prettier ones with more pictures, but this is the one that really explains his (surmised) thinking behind his designs, especially for the School of Art. Reading this changed my view of Mackintosh in a way that the others didn't.
