2024 movie #114. 1972. Some groovy London kids raise Christopher Lee, er, I mean Dracula, from the dead. To their regret. Pretty dopey but kinda fun.
Horror of Dracula/Dracula Has Risen From the Grave/Taste the Blood of Dracula/Dracula A.D. 1972 (4 Draculas) by Terence Fisher
The first film is by far the best, the second is also good, and it's more or less downhill from there. Hammer was the house of horror in the 50s and 60s, and even the later films are watchable.
A reincarnated Dracula plans to decimate the world.
Yes, now this is how you make a bad movie. An over-the-top plot, an inexplicably good cast, vibrant visuals, and lots of action. Apparently this is the eighth Dracula movie starring Lee and Cushing; I think there might be a Hammer Studios marathon somewhere in my future.
