Oscar Hayden is a computer engineer with a talent for data mining and creating programs. He's grumpy of the Hayden triplets and swears he's not going to join the cult his brother joined.
Selene Tanaka is a theoretical atomic physicist at Cornell. I love her wild, adventurous spirit and confidence. She's the perfect counterpoint for mister grumpy pants and she makes a brilliant supervillain (you'll understand once you read the book). She really stole the limelight in this book and I loved show more her.
Oscar and Selene have been having a fun sexual times when he realizes his laptop camera turned on by itself. Then everything changes and he finds himself heading to a safe house with Selene.
When the notorious Luca Campisi, bomb designer finds them, their world takes another direction as we discover he's not the evil terrorist everyone thought.
This Trinity Masters installment had a great balance of suspense, danger, humor, romance building and sexy times. This threesome manages to get up to all sorts of kinky shenanigans and supervillain antics while trying to save the world. I liked how open and supportive this trinity was and respective of each other's possible triggers.
Ever feel like you can hear the author giggling while reading a book, well I swear I heard Lila giggling.
Some favorite quotes:
'There is butt stuff'
'Are you two objectifying me?'
'Anti-supervillain therapy.'"

Positively a fantastic and unique story. Although it is a contemporary romance show more there is a hint of magic in this story. Who is the Grand Master and how does he decide which three people to match up? The ceremony seems mystical and, according to the Grand Master, more binding than a marriage.
It is extremely well written. The story flows so well that you become completely engrossed. No typo's nor editing errors to distract you.
All three main characters are interesting. Their personalities are very different from each other. Preston is very confidant and in control of himself. Lance is a soldier who tends to ask to many questions. Carly is off the charts smart and determined. Together they make a very impressive trio. They are instantly drawn to each other. The romance is potent and very energetic. They are all three very intelligent and powerful in their own right. But none of them know how to do relationships.
There is suspense and mystery entwined with the romance and erotica. It is all perfectly balanced to create a fantastic story. show less

Intelligent Doms, I swear to god there is nothing sexier. Sure, some hot guy who will tie you up and can use a flogger is great but... A smart guy who can pay attention? Interpret clues? Is dedicated to making every time the best time possible? That's what Lila writes and why I always looks forward to new books in the BDSM Checklist series. They aren't perfect, they have character flaws, but they are generally invested in being great Doms, regardless of their other issues. Dante is no show more exception.
She also writes great female characters. Women who understand that being submissive does not mean being a doormat or brainless arm candy. Katrina may have concerns about how it will all work out, but she is strong enough to recognize that she needs to at least try, before giving it all up.
Mix it all with frequent, imaginative scenes and I'm sold. These are fiction, so of course there's an aspect of wish fulfillment, but as an example of strong relationship practices, you could aim at worse. As an added bonus, Lila's books are always well edited and I rarely get hung up on typos or grammatically painful sentences, and I'm a very happy camper! show less

No matter how wild and crazy the setting might be: supernatural creatures, intergalactic empires, reverse harems of shapeshifters, the things that make for a successful book are always pretty basic. People who the reader can engage with in some way doing things that entertain or teach. And I love the BDSM Checklist series because the plotlines always grow out of the essential weirdnesses of the human condition.
At its core, BDSM is a set of guidelines that grew from a community of people who show more shared a basic interest and who said to themselves, "Humans are bad at communicating, but our interests can border on dangerous, so we need to make honesty a baseline of what we do." And everyone agreed in principle. And the plot of "J is for..." hinges on the ability of people to always find a way to justify exceptions for themselves.
Davina and Grif are successful people in the real world, who think they've created the ideal relationship for themselves at Las Palmas. As a bonded pair of switches, they collaborate on their scenes and know each other's predilections well. But the Overseers' game forces them to admit that their rule about sharing nothing from their lives outside the club is limiting them, not freeing them.
As usual in this series, the scenes are blisteringly hot. But even more than that, I just loved watching this couple struggle with habits and assumptions and eventually have the maturity to make scary choices and take new chances. This is book ten in the series and it's still going strong. show less
