This is a very useful book if you are a darkroom worker who want to get a deeper understanding of toning prints. The author goes into great detail on techniques and the results that you can expect from toning on various papers and paper types. The information is well presented and easy to follow, and there is a formulary in the back for reference. There are a great number of examples which are well printed and quite useful. This is a very well rounded book that starts with the basics of traditional photo printing and move up through much more advance techniques. It is well written and easy to follow. Each topic is covered in great detail and many examples are shown, including step by step photos of what you can expect. This is one of the more referenced books in my personal collection.

If you have any interest in lith printing you would be well served by this book. The author has provided much information on technique and materials, and is well illustrated with examples and thorough notes. A formulary is included in the rear of the book for reference.
