This oversized book, part of Scholastic’s Big Science series, includes color photographs from NASA, drawings, and photographs of students involved in classroom learning activities that the students can replicate. They investigate each of the planets in our solar system, with both pictures and facts, and a drawing illustrating the planets in order of their distance from the sun as well as their size relation to each other.

Young Astronauts learn about Voyager 2, making models and exploring show more space with special activities and projects.

Technology allows scientists to explore Mars, the one planet in the solar system that is most like Earth. A comic illustrates G Forces, and a NASA photograph shows the sun as it appears through a telescope. Fun Facts and the shapes of the moon follow.

Young elementary grade readers and space enthusiasts will find much to appreciate here.

Highly recommended.
