Finally, Jackson Gray's story. The last single Gray brother, Jackson finds his mate in Harper Clair. Harper is pregnant with a lion shifter cub and on the run from the sperm donor because said baby daddy has ambitions that will be ruined by an illegitimate kid. The fact that the kid/cub is with a human apparently just adds to the humiliation. Of course, the sperm donor doesn't think about all that while he is getting it on with the human. Oh no. No personal responsibility on his part. Just show more blame the woman because she got pregnant and decided to keep the baby. While I don't know any men that are this level of jerk, I have heard stories of people who are like this and worse. So I was prepared for another quick hit of happy, which I got, but this was more. Let's just say that I really like some of the subtle and not so subtle messaging going on here.

Elle Redfern- Here is a woman who through her life has been told she isn't enough- pretty enough, human enough, woman enough. All these messages were from people who saw themselves as not enough and took that out on her. In spite of all the negative messaging, she has the strength to put her abusive husband in jail show more and find a new life. Then, with the help of a few people, she finds her power and gets the chance to move past her...well..past. Pardon me while I swoon. This series just keeps getting better and better. Now you add in fae to the mix? Shut the front door.

Suzanne Vela is part fae but doesn't know it. She goes on a blind date with a vamp who gets a taste of Suzanne's deliciousness and decides he wants it all. So he drains her and leaves her to die in a fire to burn the evidence of his dinner.

Cue hero- Mason Gray, bear shifter and volunteer fire fighter. A quick, happy read. This author doesn't stint on solid lovemaking scenes or on some fun (YMMV) fight scenes with a bit of squick. Limited character development, partly due to shorter length.
