It had my interest up to the point it became a job search manual. I'm in a transitional period of my career and I believe I've found what I love to do as the book suggests. Coincidently, it happens to be in the career I had when I came out of college 15 years ago.
I feel like I've come full circle in my career but the difference is I'm a business owner instead of an employee. The book had some great nuggets in it but when it focused on finding a "job" I started losing interest. I skimmed show more forward until it came back to the entrepreneurial advice. I gave this 3 stars, not terrible but took me off course a little. show less

Miller's book provides in a shorter space all of the things that everyone needs to know. He accurately describes the differences between a job, a career, or a vocation and hits the psychology of it all squarely on the head. His goal is not merely to help you find a job; he wants you to enjoy the work that you do find.
For the truest review I guess I'll have to put the plan into action and see if I've gotten results in 48 days. But for now, the book was mostly a positive and inspirational guide to deciding what you want to do and how to go about getting the job you want. I did find some of the statistics Miller sited to be a bit dubious. The essence of the book was simply this: Don't just sit around wishing you were happy with your career. Do something about it.
Starts out great with analysis of what your problem might be, but seems to get stuck in helping you write resumes and do interviews. Great for out-of-the-box suggestions, though.
