Blood and Justice: A Private Investigator Mystery Series (A Jake & Annie Lincoln Thriller Book 1) by Rayven T. Hill
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The reader knows from the beginning who did it, and why. It's a matter of following Jake and Annie in their race to stop the killer from killing again. The book was fast-paced and fun. My only complaint was the names of the characters. With names like Annie and Amelia, and Jake, Jenny, Jeremy, and Jeremiah, I beg the author to choose a new letter from the alphabet. Trying to distinguish who a person was became pretty confusing at times.
This novel looks promising with all the necessary ingredients for a psychological thriller, a psychotic serial killer with boy-next-door looks, a kidnapped girl, an unlikely husband-wife pair of private investigators, and so on. Still, it lacks that 'something' which could have made it from being ordinary to being extraordinary. It is a quick read which doesn't tax the reader much.
More like a 3.5. A fairly well done cozy mystery - we know who the bad guy is fairly early in the story, then follow as he tries to cover up his crime while Jake and Annie (along with a cop) figure it out.
A pleasant read & about the right length. Honestly, I would buy more of the series at a bargain price, but probably not too much because it didn't take me that long to read.

This was quite an enjoyable book about a young girl who got accidentally caught up in a murder. The main characters were two Private investigators who had been engaged to help the police find the murderer who was also holding the young girl. Not a huge page turner and it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat but the story was good and had a reasonable ending. Quite a passable holiday read and no doubt I shall read further books in this series.
