You have to be a real early car (or motorcycle) enthusiast to like this book. It's about 80% advertising for old cars, up to 1930. Another 10% covers vintage motorcycle ads, and 10% collector/author Clymer's personal recollections of early 20th century vehicles. The ads are interesting up to a point, but unless you marvel at the mechanical innovations in early autos, they get rather repetitive. I'm not interested in motorcycles at all, and since much of Clymer's recollections involve show more motorcycle racing, I ended up skipping over much of his text. show less
Interesting basic survey book of early automobiles. It may not have all early automobiles but it is a good starter book for those interested in the subject. Mr. Clymer's text is a easy read not cluttered with heavy technical data.
A wonderful overview of the period the book was written.
