Jenny Dale's Puppy Patrol 31: Two's Company: Two's Company (Jenny Dale's Puppy Patrol) by Jenny Dale
This is the first Puppy Patrol book I have ever read. The main character of the story is Neil. Neil helps out at his family's kennel. In this book, he helps to organize a walk in order to benefit an organization that trains dogs to be guide dogs for blind people, while also trying to find a home for an old dog whose owner passed away.
Having never read a Puppy Patrol book before, there was a lot of referencing going on that I was generally clueless about, although based on what was written I show more can assume that these instances are covered in previous books. For example, the kids know a lot of people and their dogs, and have probably helped most of them out. I would have to backtrack and read more in the series to really find out. Some parts of this book seem like a big character reunion, which is a component that really means nothing to me right now. However, the book can be read without knowing all of that, just fine. The plot is pretty straightforward and there are conflicts that arise solely within this book.
This is a cute book and I think readers who enjoy Animal Ark or other animal books/series similar to that series will enjoy this series too. It isn't my absolute favorite dog or animal book, but it is a solid one where kids can learn a lot about good citizenship and being kind and charitable to others. show less

A dog finds a teddy bear in a neighbor's yard and immediately claims it, but she has to do the right thing when she realizes the bear belongs to someone else. I was bored, but kids will probably like that the story is told from the dog's perspective.
A stray puppy gets taken in temporarily by a family with too little room for a second dog in their home but lots of Christmas spirit in their hearts. I couldn't quite connect, but kids will probably like the simple, straightforward story.
A short, cute children's book about a mysterious pony that keeps appearing and disappearing from a little girl's yard. She has no idea who it belongs to or where it goes when it leaves, and although it's all very obvious very early what is going on, it's a sweet little kid's book that I enjoyed reading.
