Judging by the photographs, Staff Sergeant Moss is proud of his physique, e.g. "The accompanying photograph shows the result on myself of the system I teach by post". The author is featured in many poses in what looks like his back garden. One could also be misled that this a drinking rather than gymnastics manual, e.g. no. 59, Lying on back on bar and no. 58. Drop into the hocks.
