Mistress Mariax is the femme fatale that I so needed. Don't let the name of her business, The Snuggle Pit fool you as it is anything but cuddly. Mariax is giving both Madam and Daddy vibes. The best of both worlds. That tail of her's! Hunter is a lycan and known as "pup" by Mariax.

A quote by Hunter "I've wanted to try all the dark, taboo kinks with her."

Finally, there is Ian. Um, yes! He was also giving off Daddy vibes. A quote by Ian " She has always been mine, how I claimed her."

Do you show more know what you get when a dark romance PA turns debut author...an freaking amazing book. Mistress of Souls is that is stuffed full of all the kinks you could ever want, like drinking an extra-large Long Island Iced Tea! I devoured every sinful morsel of this book. Readers will want to purchase two copies of this book as the first copy is going to be highlighted and tabbed all up with all the quotes that you will fall in love with. show less
One name… Derek London! Yeah I know but you soon will. But I’m going to start at the beginning. I’m not even sure how I found out about CM Hutton but I did. And I started this series at the beginning with Paradise Taken, and for me it did take a second to get over the cheating thing, not a book I would’ve normally read but something kept me involved in it. Then the ending happened and I was left there in tears with no more words on the page to read! And I’m serious totally an ugly show more cry of epic proportions! So I contacted her and we chatted over the who what and why’s of the story. I love when Authors will talk to you about their books. So fast forward to Saving Us –book 2 and wow, it was really great to see Jake & Kaye get their happily ever after.

Now the reason I’m saying all of this… In the background of all of these books wasexport_01 the wife of Jake, the woman that should be pissed and ready to get even, after all she was the one cheated on, her husband and best friend did the unthinkable to her. She had the proverbial knife in her back. But not Claire, she was determined to be an adult through it all, not become the b*itch that she very much had the right to be. She held her head high and did the only thing she knew to do and that was move forward. Teaching everyone that took notice that this was who she was, now don’t get me wrong she was mad and had her moments of weakness but all in all she kept her head up high. So in Honest Love that’s basically where we start, Claire and her kids are moving on with their life, they’ve moved to San Diego and Claire is working and moving on, when she meets a grumpy (not the exactly right word but it get the point across) but HOT guy. Well with a change in the plan she ends up spending more time with Derek than was her intention… I can tell you that Honest Love was just that, it was a story of Honest Love for Claire, it was for the first time someone loving her, for her and only her. Giving her what she needed, even though I’m not sure she got that in the first place. Then we have Derek and he is brooding, hot, aggravating and oh so right for Claire. But before any of this takes place Derek has his own demons to face. And has to figure out just what he wants. I think he knows its Claire but again those demons always pop up at the most inopportune times. Just when you think this story is taking a turn for the worst (you’ll know) I think it takes it’s best turn yet. Claire begins to figure out that she isn’t alone at all like I believe she sometimes feels. That she and hers can be loved and accepted but a family that isn’t even hers yet. I have to tell you I read a sh*t ton of books, but this one is different. And what I say by that is that it’s a grown up love story, I’m not saying that there isn’t drama because there is but its personal drama, there isn’t a lot of teen-angst drama I guess is what I’m saying. These books are adults going through adult situations and for the most part handling them like adults and that is one of my favorite things about them.

Thank you CM Hutton, now that I’ve read this one, I guess it my time to sit and wait to see what comes next.

Oh and I’ve included the cover picture as I normally do with all my posts but this on is straight off my tablet. I just wanted you to all see that the beauty of it transfers to the screen beautifully! PS Don’t lick the screen, you don’t get the same effect. But I’ll let you know about the paper back! Hahahaha

I’m sitting here with my mouth still hanging open. Did that really just happen? No really did that just happen? I’m going to warn you that this review is going to happen a little differently. I don’t want to let the proverbial cat out of the bag hell I don’t even want to begin to, but I do want you all to know that this book broke all my typical rules. And I want you all to understand that this is my take on this book here it goes. I’m going to try and start at the beginning. This show more is the 2nd book by CM Hutton that I’ve read, my first being just a few days ago. (Loving Her) This book was the first book that she published, and fantastic doesn’t even begin to describe it. I have to tell you it was a little hard to start, but once you get into it. You wont be able to put it down. It was a easy read, the words just kept flowing but the storyline left me feeling like I couldn’t read fast enough.

Paradise Taken is a story about two couples that share a long friendship and now a business together. They move to the Island of St. John were being around one another on a more regular basis brings out feelings to the surface that were tucked away before. Realizing that Jake can’t live his life without Kaye knowing the truth, he reveals his secret to her. And together they go on a very personal journey together of stolen moments, hidden looks and burning passion. But eventually, they are burnt by that very passion and have decision that must be made, or in my opinion are made for them. But what one person decides leaves them all walking away scars that run deep!

This book, its fantastic like I said before it does break a lot of rules for me. I’m not a big reader of books with affairs in them, but some of them like Paradise Taken you get it. I don’t really see it as the casual affair. I see Kaye as stuck no matter what she would’ve tried. She was trapped by a man that yes she loved, but there wasn’t any real passion for anymore. Rob seemed controlling to me, and yes there were times that she went along with it. But finally I think she realized that she deserved better, and deserved what true love. I don’t think she realized exactly what it was until Jake showed her it to her. And Jake, well you just fall in love with him. I can’t pinpoint what it is about him exactly he’s charming & sweet. Yes, I know he’s cheating to but there is something about him. Maybe is because you don’t know a lot about his relationship with Claire.

I do have to tell you that there will be a follow up book to this one. I don’t believe the exact date has been released. But I’m pretty sure it will be coming out in the earlier part of 2014. You will be hearing more from me about it all so stay tuned!!
