Impulse grab from the library. So far so much fun. If you're looking for more books that you might not find by your usual strategies, or if you're looking for reasons to read some of the modern classics you've overlooked, or if you're looking for quick summaries & fresh interpretations of same so you don't have to read them, or if you're looking for a gift for the young woman in your life who needs to be nudged to do more, or more diverse, reading, check this one.

Done. As it happens, I show more didn't find anything new to read from this. But that's not a reflection of the book being insufficient. It had everything from Anna Karenina to Chicken Soup for the Soul offered, for everyone from a radical Birkenstock feminist to a fan of Sex & the City. And it wasn't just a list - different books were offered in different manners, as well as for different women's 'moods' and 'phases.' Really would make a great gift, esp. for a freshman in high school because one chapter is about the angst of adolescence.

Works ok from the library, but really it's quite substantial and is better opened often and explored in bits - you might want to buy it.

Really helpful if your looking for your next read. I found a lot of new titles that I'll have to check out. The commentary was funny and down-to-earth. The categories the books were separated into were very helpful.

Hilarious! This is a book of quick retellings of classic romances. However, I suggest that you read the orginal works that are referenced. You'll get so much more enjoyment out of it. Perfect for the English major who doesn't want to take herself too seriously. My personal favorite was The Scarlet Letter (Or, Beware the Fashion Police).
Not as interesting as I thought it would be. Found myself confused on some entries - were they being recommended or not? Did note 20 titles that I may want to read, including some that I think I read already but cannot recall.
