Although these essays may seem out of date to some, if you read them with an eye on current events, it might help you put some things in perspective. A review of the Reagan and Bush years by a dedicated liberal can be very useful in understanding how we got on the path we are now committed to as a nation and as a world. Written with erudite humor and sometimes just a bit of tongue in cheek, a true joy to read (though I think his views on Social Security might have changed; a natural show more consequence of being old enough to draw it himself now, I suppose). show less
