This book includes countless examples of crimes that have happened, which helps readers to be able to picture the situations and also to understand the seriousness of it all. Every chapter also includes plenty of tips on staying safe. The author used to be a Special Agent and Intelligence Officer with the U.S. Department of State. A downside to this book is that it was written in the early 1990s, so some of the statistics and trends may be outdated. All of the examples that the author gives show more are also from before the 21st century.

I would say that this book gave me plenty of useful insight, and after reading it, I would recommend every person to find a book, just perhaps not this book as it's old and hard to obtain, on personal safety to read. show less
