The infamous heckling that essentially ended Richards’ career hangs like a dark cloud over this surprisingly philosophical memoir. There are a lot of funny Seinfeld anecdotes but a restless searching into his own soul as well (Richards falling into the Clowns Crying on the Inside category).
A very good memoir. Richards takes his acting seriously, and tells the stories of how he developed his styles. Though he did a lot of work that way, he never was a standup comedian, and that got him in trouble a few years ago. Kind of lost after Seinfeld, he developed a lot of anger that came out unfortunately on stage. A thoughtful memoir, with some good stories; deeper than I really expected.
